At the beginning of the summer aspex undertook a rag and bone-style collection of unwanted domestic and small-scale industrial items within Portsmouth and Southsea. Selected artists then took these objects, which were no longer fit or have served their purpose and turned them into something potentially beautiful and definitely different.
For the past couple of months main gallery space has functioned as a workshop space with artists working for fixed periods throughout the project. Visitors have been able to access the gallery, observe & talk to the artists while they transform cast-offs into new creations or incorporate them into performances. After the experiment ended on 25th Sepetmber, aspex curated an exhibition of the creations, which previewed on Friday 30th September, and remained open until 9th October 2011.
This exhibition is documented on the blog http://workingtitleexhibition.wordpress.com/
